I recently made a pillow cover for a friend who runs a business called The Sleepy Owl Co. They do handmade custom party decorations. My friend is obsessed with owls and we saw a similar pillow at Indigo in October and I said it was a perfect bday present for her (her bday was in October). Of course, being me, it took me 6 months to get to it. I’m mostly happy with it. It’s 18″ x 18″, perfect for a 17″ x 17″ pillow, and mimics a snowy owl. My only issue is the wings. Since I still haven’t given it to her (because I have a horrible memory and keep forgetting to do so), I might try a different method for the wings. I’ll keep you posted. It’s made of white fleece, black fleece, grey felt and yellow felt, and brown leather. I hand stitched the face with a blanket stich and stuffed the eyelids for a 3D effect.
First and only make so far of the year. It’s been a rough winter and now that spring is slowly making its way in Toronto, I will be sewing more dresses. I’ve got a summer wardrobe to plan for. š
Here is the update on what the pillow looks like with different wings. I am more pleased with this:
LOL i didn’t mind waiting 6 LONG months š Thanks again, I love my pillow!
I’m glad you love it. š …And that I finally got it done. š
